Life can be beautiful, tender, and deeply challenging. We all encounter circumstances that bring uncertainty, frustration, loss, or pain—within ourselves, in our relationships, and in the wider world. At times, we may find ourselves caught in impatience or anger, especially when the changes we long for seem far away or take much longer than we hoped.
How might we meet these challenges with deeper understanding, kindness, and freedom? How might our actions be infused with the wholesome?
During this retreat, we will explore this question together. Through the relational practice of Insight Dialogue, we will discover and cultivate the four Brahmavihāras: loving-kindness (mettā), compassion (karuṇā), appreciative joy (muditā), and equanimity (upekkhā).
In this retreat we will approach the Brahmavihāras as ways of being, as a ground from which we can meet the challenges of life.
With the support of the Insight Dialogue guidelines: pause, relax, open, attune to emergence, listen deeply and speaking truth, we will explore the experience to dwell in the Brahmavihāras and investigate how we can meet suffering without turning away, remain connected in the midst of difficulty, rejoice in what is good.
This retreat offers an opportunity for both beginners to Insight Dialogue and experienced practitioners to deepen their practice.
During the retreat, we observe noble silence and explore the power of listening and speaking from a place of stillness. The program includes periods of silent meditation, mindful movement, and dialogue in groups of two or more, supported by guided contemplations.
