Dharma Friendship

Attendance: Your presence at all of the monthly meetings should be a high priority. Please plan on attending all meetings unless you are in a time zone where that is a hardship. If you are in a time zone where attending the meeting is not possible, there is a request that you convene with a group to review the recordings together.

Tricycle Course: Participants agree to engage with the Tricycle course.The Path of Dharma Friendship 25% discount offered by Tricycle.

Co-teaching: For this course, co-teaching is an essential part of the learning process. Participants are invited to join the course together with a specific friend/co-teacher, or connect with a specific person from the course for the duration of the program. They will meet once a month (approximately 1.5 hrs) to practice Insight Dialogue and explore the path of friendship together. They will co-teach outside and inside the group, creating and offering contemplations. We can suggest pairings as needed.

Offering practice: Participants commit to offering practice to the larger community in addition to their colleagues in this program. Where appropriate, this can take the form of in-person retreats, day-longs, weekly groups, and online practice opportunities. This commitment is specific and Jan and Greg ask you to share your plans with them no later than half way through the program, so that they can support your vision.

Co-teaching is rich in Dhamma and friendship, and this allows you to experience this directly, not in theory. This supports the IDC in its facilitator development and community growth. By teaching, you really are called to learn the material well; this is a gift.
