In times of global turmoil, how do we cultivate joy, wisdom, and inner balance? How do we meet the sorrows of the world without being overwhelmed?

This six-day retreat invites us to explore how joy and sorrow arise in the body-heart-mind—both in silence and in relational contact with others. Drawing on the Buddha’s teachings, we will investigate for ourselves the conditions that give rise to suffering and freedom, to stress and ease, to conditioned and unconditioned joy.

The retreat combines silent insight meditation with Insight Dialogue—an interpersonal meditation practice that extends mindfulness into the sphere of relationship through contemplative speaking and listening. Through both silent reflection and relational practice we will intimately explore the processes underlying personal and shared experience.

Fundraising to support new facilitators

We aim to host starting facilitating/teaching friends from countries that are connected to the teaching team, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Israel, as well as participants in other groups mentored by any member of the ID teaching community.

To support the travel costs and accommodation for participants that are not used to the high prices in our Western countries (in the Netherlands there has been a tax raise of 12% for accommodation this year), we are reaching out to anyone with an interest to financially support development of Insight Dialogue facilitators and teachers from these countries. For information and support please visit this donation page. Any support is highly appreciated and thank you for your donation:
